Since both silver and nickel are immiscible in either the solid phase or the liquid phase, even if the silver base is at the melting point temperature, nickel has only a very small content to be solid solution, and precipitates again when the temperature is decreased.  Hence the silver-nickel alloy can only be manufactured by powder metallurgy process. The sintered and extruded silver-nickel material can be formed into plate or wire shapes, and then to be specified size according to the customers’ request. In general, silver nickel is mostly used in medium and low load applications. Our NS series contact materials could bear the load specification of rated current of 100A. Especially under DC current, silver-nickel contacts exhibit a relatively low tendency of metal transfer effects. Therefore, it is often used in various types of switches in the field of vehicles.
